민생당 박성준 수석대변인은 3월7일 “친일을 넘어 숭일의 DNA를 가진 국민의힘, 일본의힘으로 이름 바꿔라” 제목의 논평을 발표했다.

민생당은 “이번 성일종 의원의 망언을 포함한 국민의힘 인사들의 친일, 숭일의 언행에 대해 강력한 유감과 우려를 표하며, 성일종 의원에 대한 국민의힘이 조치가 없다면, 안중근 장군께서 이토 히로부미를 손수 처형하셔서 정의를 실현하셨듯이 우리 국민께서 친일과 숭일의 국민의힘을 이번 총선에 엄중히 심판하실 것”이라고 경고했다.
