윤석열 대통령이 7일 "대한항공·아시아나 합병으로 항공 여행 마일리지 피해가 없도록 할 것"이라고 밝혔다.
윤 대통령은 이날 인천광역시청에서 '대한민국 관문도시, 세계로 뻗어가는 인천' 주제로 열린 열여덟 번째 국민과 함께하는 민생토론회 모두 발언에서 "현재 추진 중인 대한항공·아시아나 합병이 좋은 시너지를 내도록 할 것"이라며 이같이 말했다.
또 "두 기업이 하나의 거대 항공사가 되면서 국민들은 적립 마일리지가 깎이거나 요금이 오르지 않을까 우려하는 목소리를 잘 듣고 있다"며 "항공 여행 마일리지는 단 1마일 피해도 발생 않도록 하고, 요금 비롯 서비스 품질이 독과점으로 떨어지지 않도록 정부가 철저히 관리하고 새로 탄생한 대형 항공사가 시장을 독점 않도록 저비용항공사(LCC)를 적극 육성할 것"이라고 밝혔다.
그러면서 "인천을 교두보로 전략산업 항공·해운 산업 대혁신을 이뤄내야 한다"며 "인천국제공항 중심으로 항공산업을 크게 키우겠다"고 말했다.

윤 대통령은 "2027년까지 인천항 1·2 부두를 완전 자동화된 스마트 항만으로 개발하겠다"며 "인천항 배후부지 90만 평에 콜드체인·전자상거래 특화구역을 조성해 인천항의 항만 인프라 투자를 대폭 확대하겠다"고 밝혔다.
또 "인천국제여객터미널을 아름다운 항구로 만드는 '인천 골든하버' 프로젝트를 상반기 착수하겠다"고 밝혔다. 터미널 배후 부지엔 리조트·호텔·쇼핑몰 등 문화·상업 시설이 유치될 예정이다.
