민생당 박성준 수석대변인은 3월8일자 “손명순 여사의 별세에 삼가 조의를 표합니다” 제목의 브리핑에서 “고(故) 김영삼 전 대통령의 배우자 손명순 여사께서 별세하셨습니다. 삼가 고인의 명복을 빌며, 유가족께 깊은 애도와 위로의 말씀을 드립니다”고 피력했다.
이어“손명순 여사께서는 김영삼 대통령의 배우자이자 평생 정치적 동반자로서 훌륭한 내조의 표본을 보여주셨습니다.군사독재정권의 탄압과 온갖 고초를 겪었던 민주주의의 거목 김영삼 대통령은 손 여사께서 아니 계셨다면 역사에서 보기 힘들었으리라 생각합니다”면서 “정치인의 아내로서 동지로서 모범적인 모습을 보여주신 손 여사의 발자취를 잊지 않겠습니다”고 덧붙였다.
민생당은 “손명순 여사의 영원한 안식을 기원하며, 김영삼 대통령과 함께 대한민국의 민주화와 발전을 위해 보여주신 모습을 잊지 않겠습니다”고 다짐했다.

Park Seong-joon, chief spokesperson of the Minsaeng Party, said in a briefing titled “We express our deepest condolences on the passing of Mrs. Son Myeong-soon” on March 8, “Mrs. Son Myeong-sun, spouse of the late former President Kim Young-sam, has passed away. “We pray for her deceased soul to rest in peace, and offer our deepest condolences and condolences to her bereaved family,” he said.
He continued, “Ms. Son Myung-sun has shown an excellent example of domestic support as the spouse and lifelong political partner of President Kim Young-sam.
