학교청소년단체연합회는 3월28일자 보도자료에서 “안병일 학교청소년단체연합회 회장이 청소년 건전 육성과 학교 청소년단체발전을 위한 업무수행을 성공적으로 마무리하고 3월28일 이임했다”고 알렸다.

안병일 전 회장은 건전한 청소년 육성을 위해 한평생 매진하였을 뿐만 아니라 서울대 한국행정연구소 특별연구원, 명지대학교 객원교수, 글로벌사이버대학교에서 10여 년간 겸임교수로 재직(청소년 문제, 청소년활동 등)하면서 명실상부한 청소년지도자 양성 등에도 주력해 왔다.
안병일 전 회장은 청소년운동의 사회적, 교육적 가치실현을 위하여 30여 년간 헌신해 왔으며 국내 최초로 청소년 글로벌 거버넌스 구현과 청소년 융합교육을 시도하여 국가경쟁력과 인류평화에 기여할 수 있는 기틀의 장을 마련해 왔다는 평가를 받아 왔다.
안병일 전 회장은 충남 홍성고를 거쳐 명지대학교에서 행정학박사학위를 취득하였으며 한국스카우트연맹 사무총장, 국회스카우트의원연맹 사무총장, 한국청소년단체협의회 이사, 한국청소년NGO학회장 등으로 활동한 청소년 NGO전문가다.
학교청소년단체연합회는 한국걸스카우트연맹, 한국스카우트연맹, 한국청소년연맹, 한국해양소년단연맹, 대한적십자사청소년적십자 등 청소년단체로 구성돼 있으며 후임 회장엔 이상익 한국청소년연맹 사무총장이 선임됐다.
