바닷가에는 매일 마다 밀물-썰물 시간이 있다. 밀물은 바닷물이 들어오는 것을 의미하며, 썰물은 바닷물이 빠져 나가는 것을 뜻한다.
언론에도 썰물 밀물 현상이 존재한다, 근년에는 더욱더 그렇다. 필자는 전통 미디어인 레거시 미디어(legacy media)와 새로운 미디어인 뉴 미디어(new media)시대의 중간에서 생존하려고 몸부림치는, 언론사의 오너(社主)이다. 언론의 썰물-밀물 현상을 한 몸으로 체험하며 살아가고 있다.

인공지능(AI) 포털인 '뤼튼'에 전통 미디어(legacy media)와 새 미디어(new media)의 의미가 무언지를 물었다. 아래는 그 답이다.

정신을 바짝 차리지 않으면, 언론의 밀물-썰물 현상에 휩싸여서, 언론 매체라는 시신(屍身)이 바다의 한 가운데 둥둥 떠 있는, 비참한 상태를 예감한다.
썰물에 쓸려나간다면, 몇 글자 적을 수 있는 손바닥만 한 비석도 허용되지 않을 것이다. 처참할 일이다!
언론 매체가 침몰하면, 그 속에 앙상한 뼈로 남아, 자취도 없이 스러지고 말, 서글픈 존재이다. 상상만 해도 슬플 일이다. 시대적 상황이 이렇습니다!!!
