브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 중앙선거관리위원회는 3일 제22대 국회의원 선거일 6일 전인 오는 4일부터 10일 오후 6시까지 선거에 관해 정당 지지도나 당선인을 예상하게 하는 여론조사의 결과를 공표하거나 인용해 보도할 수 없다고 밝혔다.
선거에 임박해 발표되는 여론조사의 경우 선거에 직접적인 영향을 미칠 가능성이 높고, 불공정하거나 부정확한 여론조사가 공표된다면 이를 반박하고 시정하기도 어려워 선거 공정성을 해칠 수 있기 때문이라고 선관위는 설명했다.
다만 공표 금지기간 이전에 공표된 것을 다시 인용하거나 금지기간 이전에 조사했음을 명시해서 여론조사 결과를 공표·보도하는 행위는 가능하다.
한편, 선관위는 이번 4·10총선 선거여론조사 관련 위반행위에 대한 조치 건은 3일 현재 총 105건이며 고발 25건, 과태료 4건(총 4000만원), 경고등 76건이라고 전했다.
