러시아 국방부는 1차 군사작전의 종료를 알리며 군사작전의 결과에 대해 언급했다. 현재까지 약 한 달 이상 이루어진 우크라이나 특수 군사작전에서 지금까지 참전했던 군인 1,351명이 사망하고 3,825명이 부상했다고 한다. 또한 군사 작전의 첫 번째 단계의 주요 임무가 완료되었다며 우크라이나군의 전투 역량이 크게 파괴되어 주요 목표인 돈바스 지역을 해방시키는데 집중할 수 있게 되었다고 밝혔다. 이말인즉, 우크라이나의 군사적 시설을 무력화시키는데 성공했지만 그에 따른 피해도 만만치 않았다는 발표이다. 이는 어디까지나 러시아 군 측의 발표이기 때문에 실제로 얼마만큼 실효성 있게 목표한데로 군사작전을 성공했는지는 알 수 없다.
