이번 선거는 김경률과 그 주변인들이 초 친거다. 보면 모르냐. 몇번 지적했다. 좌완 투수의 실투 폭투. 주자들을 쌓아놓고 막판 한방에 대량 실점 한 것이다. 한동훈(국민의힘 전 비대위원장) 잘못이 있다면 피아를 구분하지 못한다는 거. 몇 번 말했냐. 난 정치인은 아니지만 건너건너 들은 말들을 종합해보면 한동훈은 꼭 가까이 해야 할 사람들은 멀리 하고 멀리 해야 할 사람들을 가까이 하더라.
솔직히 말하면 사람 보는 눈이 없는 거 같고 누가 자신에게 도움이 되는지를 모르는 거 같더라. 그리고 정치는 생물이고 선거는 싸움판이다. 공부 잘한 엘리트 필기시험의 강자 엘리트는 커다란 착각을 한다. 자신의 생각대로 즉, 교과서대로만 하면 자신이 지지를 얻고 대중들이 자신을 이해하고 따를 것으로 생각한다.
그런 게 아니다. 누차 말하지만 아무리 아니라고 해도 정치판은 커다란 사익추구의 판이다. 따라서 유인체계를 제대로 구축해야 돌아가는 것이다. 분열이 일어날까봐 직접 말은 못했지만 한동훈이 김경률 불러들이고 분열의 저주가 시작된 거다. '마리 앙투아네트' 그 말 한마디가 저주가 된 것이다. 주어 삼키지 못하는 그 말 한마디가 선거전 내내 물귀신이 되어 국민의힘을 잡고 끌어내렸다.
한동훈 입으로 '586 척결'을 외치는데 김경률이 '마리 앙투아네트' 발언을 했으니 국민들은 그 척결이 누구를 향해야 하는지 헷갈리는 거고 한동훈 외침에 공감하지 못했던 것이다. 그 외에도 김경률 실언들은 많았다. 야구로 치면 김경률의 실언들은 좌완 투수가 내보낸 주자들과 같다. 그리고 막판 공천 취소 사태가 터지고 내부 분열이 격심해지면서 대량 실점으로 이어지고 콜드 게임으로 패한 거다.
물론 사람 잘못보고 투수로 기용한 감독도 책임이 있지. 하지만 분명히 하자. 그 자책점은 모두 김경률 몫이다. 김경률 속은 아무도 모른다. 정말 잘해보려고 하려다 실수로 그렇게 한 것이지. 아니면 보수 진영 전체를 물 먹이려고 일부러 그렇게 한 것인지. 그건 한동훈도 모를 것이다.
그건 김경률이 보유한 사적 정보이다. 게임이론에선 바로 그 사적 정보가 관건이다. 그런데 하나를 보면 안다. 한동훈은 책임지고 당을 떠나는데 김경률은 책임 안 지다는 거. 당에 눌러 붙어 마치 자기 책임은 없다는 식이다. 보수당 국민의힘을 통째로 삼키려는 것이지. 그 다음 수순은 뭐 겠냐. 당을 재정비 한다는 핑계로 이준석 불러 들이는 것이다. 돌아가는 꼴 보면 모르냐.
그 좌완 투수들. 그들은 맞춤형 불펜이었다. 그런데 그들은 자신들이 선발로 뛰겠다는 생각을 했던 거다. 그래서 국민의힘의 정체성도 모호해지고 내부 분열이 가속화됐던 거다. 그들은 원래도 보수당 승리에 관심 없고 자기 정치를 하고 싶었던 거다.
솔직히 말해. 한동훈 너무 욕할 거 없다. 물론 잘한 건 아니지. 엄청 실망감을 줬으니까. 이번 선거는 한동훈이 아니고 그 누가 지휘를 했어도 패할 수밖에 없었다.
알아야 할 건 한국의 정치 지형이 바뀌었다는 거다. 문제는 그의 사람 보는 눈이다.
정치를 너무 교과서적으로 한다는 거. 정치는 행태적 접근이 필요하다. 교과서로 일어선 자 교과서로 망한다. 정치는 생물이고 정치는 사람의 마음을 얻는 것이다. 한동훈을 보며 드는 생각이다.
