울진군, ‘십이령 등금쟁이 축제’개최

【브레이크뉴스 울진】이우근 기자=울진군(군수 손병복)은 오는 20일 북면 삼당권역 십이령 마을에서 보부상들의 애환을 이야기로 엮은 ‘십이령 등금쟁이 축제’를 개최한다고 12일 밝혔다.

십이령 마을은 옛날 울진의 해산물과 봉화 등 내륙지방의 특산물을 물물교환하던 보부상들의 길목으로써, 지금은 금강송 숲길을 찾는 탐방객들의 출발지이기도 하다.

‘십이령 등금쟁이 축제’는 지역 주민들의 공동체의식 함양과 전통유산을 계승 발전시키고자, 지난 2011년 주민들의 자체적인 기획과 노력으로 출발하여 올해로 13회째를 맞는 주민참여형 축제이다.

축제는 바지게꾼 놀이와 주모 선발대회 등 보부상들의 생활상을 엿볼 수 있는 줄거리로 꾸며지고, 특히 십이령 부녀회에서 축제 퍼포먼스를 준비하여 많은 볼거리를 제공하고 있다.

축제장 인근에는 자연 용출되는 덕구 보양온천과 울진 금강송 숲길, 그리고 구수곡 자연휴양림등의 관광자원이 있어, 몸과 마음을 치유하고 힐링하는 가족 단위 최고의 휴양지로 손꼽히고 있다.

강성국 십이령마을 운영위원장은 “사라져 가는 전통 문화유산을 축제로 승화하여 다양한 볼거리를 마련하였으니, 많은 분들이 축제장을 찾아 즐겨 주시길 희망한다”라고 밝혔다.

손병복 울진군수는“십이령 등금쟁이 축제는 주민들의 자발적인 참여로 만들어 가는 축제라 더욱 의미가 깊다”라며“앞으로도 지역축제 발전 및 울진군의 전통과 역사를 계승 발전시킬 수 있는 다양한 방안을 모색해 가겠다”라고 말했다.
