4월19일. 오늘은 필자가 사주(社主-오너)인 브레이크뉴스(www.breaknews.com)의 창간 21주년이 되는 날입니다. 인터넷 신문사의 생일입니다. 이 신문은 한국 인터넷 신문의 산 역사 매체 중의 하나입니다. 인터넷 초기 시대를 이끌어온 매체(媒體)이기 때문입니다.
이 기간, 세상은 너무 많이 변화-변동했습니다. 이제, 인공지능(AI)시대로 진입했습니다.
브레이크뉴스는 이 날짜로 총 1,027,660건에 달하는 뉴스-정보를 탑재(搭載)한 매체가 됐습니다. 100만 건이 넘는 정보의 보고(寶庫) 매체가 된 것입니다. 그간 뉴스-정보를 생산(生産)한 많은 분들의 수고가 고스란히 담겨져 있습니다. “참여해주신 여러분, 감사합니다.”
브레이크뉴스는 인공지능 시대, 원천정보가 많은 매체로 우뚝 섰다고 자랑할 수 있습니다. 그간 인터넷 매체라는 생태계는 모든 정보가 무료로 이용되고 있어, 빈한(貧寒)함을 벗어나긴 어려웠습니다. 그러나 “보람 있는 기간”이었다고 자평(自評)합니다.

필자는 회사에 출근 하는 길에, 동네 떡집에 들러, 2,000원짜리 시루떡 하나를 샀습니다. 그리고 스스로에게 “그간 수고했다”라는 문구를 써놓고, 스스로를 격려하면서, 창간 21주년을 자축(自祝)했습니다.
A4용지에 아래와 같은 문장을 쓰고, 이 글씨를 향해 꾸벅 절을 했습니다.
“문일석, 내가 나의 일을 축하(祝賀)하노라, 그 동안 수고 많이 했어~하하하...2024.4.19.”
