[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] '의병의 날'을 국가기념일로 탄생시킨 '의병의 성지' 의령군이 축제 이름을 바꾸고 두 번째로 개최한 ‘제49회 의령홍의장군축제'가 성공적으로 마무리됐다.
"의령군이 만들어 가는 의병정신은 또다시 국민들에게 새로운 자긍심을 불러일으킬 것입니다"라는 오태완 군수의 개막식 공언대로 18일부터 21일까지 개최된 이번 축제에 의령군이 선보인 '의병정신'은 감동을 주기에 충분했다.
이번 축제는 비 오는 궂은 날씨에도 12만 명이 의령을 찾았고, 군민들도 하나 된 마음으로 축제를 즐겼다. 관광객들은 의령 관문을 들어서는 순간부터 '우리 모두가 의병, 홍의장군이 되어 모두 모였다'라는 축제 구호에 맞게 누구나 의병이 됐다.
