윤석열 대통령이 24일 국민의 힘 의원들과 오찬 간담회를 갖고 "우리는 민생과 이 나라 미래를 책임지고 있는 정치적 운명 공동체"라고 강조했다고 대통령실이 전했다.
윤 대통령은 이날 청와대 영빈관에서 열린 국민의 힘 의원 오찬 간담회 모두 발언에서 "나라·국민·당을 위해 애쓰고 헌신한 여러분께 감사하다"며 이같이 말했다고 김수경 대통령실 대변인이 오후 서면브리핑에서 전했다.
이 자리엔 제22대 4·10 총선 낙천·낙선 의원들도 함께 해 약 1시간 45분여간 차분한 분위기 속에서 진행된 가운데 선거 불출마·낙천·낙선자를 격려하기 위해 마련됐다.
윤 대통령은 "최일선 현장서 온몸으로 민심을 느낀 의원 여러분 의견을 듣고 국정을 운영하는 게 대통령으로서의 도리"라며 "국회·민생 현장서 풍부한 경험을 쌓아 온 여러분들 지혜가 꼭 필요한 만큼 고견을 많이 들려달라"고 요청했다.
이어 윤재옥 국민의 힘 당 대표 권한대행(원내대표)은 인사말에서 "오늘 여기 계신 분들은 윤석열 정부 탄생을 함께하신 분들"이라며 "윤석열 정부 성공이 우리 소명이란 생각을 공유하고 있다"고 말했다.
