최민호 세종시장이 24일 시청 책문화센터에서 바야툴가 샘지드마(Bayartulga Semjidmaa) 몽골 울란바토르시 바양골구 의회 의장 등 대표단과 만나 환담을 갖고 협력 방안을 논의했다.
이번 방문은 세종시의 도시 발전 현황을 이해하고 협력사업을 논의하기 위해 이뤄졌다.
몽골 대표단의 방문은 지난 1월 몽골 세렝게주 주지사 대표단, 3월 볼강 아이막 주지사 대표단에 이은 세 번째 방문이다.
이날 대표단은 최민호 시장을 만나 세종시 도시건설 현황을 듣고 2026년 국제정원도시박람회 몽골 지방정부 참여 방안 등을 모색했다.
이어 시청 1층 미래전략수도 세종 홍보관에서 세종시 발전 역사를 소개받고 국내 최장 원형 보행교인 이응다리를 시찰했다.
최민호 시장은 “최근 몽골 지방정부가 우리 시의 성공적인 도시건설 사례를 참고하기 위해 여러 차례 방문했다”며 “이는 세종시가 세계적인 도시발전 모델이라는 것을 증명하는 것으로, 앞으로 이들 도시와 협력을 지속해 나갈 것”이라고 말했다.
