브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 삼성메디슨이 지난 7일 산부인과 초음파 진단 리포팅 기술을 갖춘 프랑스 AI 개발 스타트업 ‘소니오(Sonio)’ 인수를 위한 주식 양수계약을 체결했다.
삼성메디슨은 소니오 인수를 통해 유럽의 우수 AI 개발인력을 확보하는 한편, 향후 자사 의료용 AI 솔루션에 소니오의 AI 진단 보조기능 및 리포팅 기술력을 더해 더욱 개선된 AI기능을 선보인다는 계획이다.
삼성메디슨은 소니오와의 기술 협업을 통해 향후 의료진의 진단 소요 시간을 획기적으로 단축하고, 진단 품질 또한 더욱 높일 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
의학 발전을 통한 전 세계 임산부와 태아 건강 증진을 목표로 2020년 설립된 소니오는, 산부인과 초음파용 진단 소프트웨어를 중심으로 의료진이 환자의 진단 이력 및 내역을 손쉽게 확인하고 관리할 수 있도록 돕는 다양한 IT솔루션 및 AI 진단 보조 기능을 개발해 왔다.
소니오 개발 기능 중 태아 상태 측정용 진단 단면을 자동 인식해 화면 품질 및 적정 여부를 평가해 주는 산부인과용 AI 진단 보조기능 ‘디텍트’는 2023년 8월 FDA의 판매승인을 획득했다.
이어 향상된 성능의 신규 버전을 출시하며 올해 4월 26일 추가 판매승인에 성공했다. 또한, 해당 제품의 대규모 공급 계약을 미국에서 체결하며 경쟁력을 입증 받은 바 있다.
초음파 스캔 결과를 정량화한 뒤 체계적으로 정리해 주는 소니오의 AI 진단 리포팅 시스템은 클라우드 기반으로 구축돼 고객의 초기투자 비용을 경쟁사 대비 낮출 수 있으며 유지보수도 손쉽다.
