이번 사업은 중장년층의 대상포진 발생률 및 합병증의 위험성 증가로 인한 의료비 부담을 줄여줄 필요성이 대두됨에 따라, 울진군이경북 시군 최초로 지난해부터 실시하고 있는 사업이다.
군은 지난해 기존의 60세 이상 대상포진 예방접종 지원을 50세 이상 울진군민으로 확대하여 군민들에 큰 호응을 얻었고, 올해는 지난해보다 백신 물량을 증가하여 실시하게 되었다.
접종을 원하는 대상자는 13일 오전9시부터 오후 6시까지 울진군 홈페이지 통합예약시스템을 이용하여 예약하여야 하며 상반기 백신 보유량 2,000개 소진 시까지 진행된다.
단, 과거 대상포진 예방접종을 한 만 50세~59세 군민과 생백신 금기자는 접종 대상에서 제외된다.
접종장소는 보건소, 평해읍보건지소로 본인이 원하는 장소를 선택할 수 있으며, 하루 최대 예약 가능 인원은 보건소 140명, 평해읍보건지소 60명이고, 어린이 국가예방접종과의 혼선을 막기 위해 평일 오후 1시 30분부터 16시 30분까지 접종이 가능하다.
확대 지원 대상이 아닌 60세 이상 울진군민은 기존과 같이 관내 위탁의료기관에서 접종할 수 있다.
