경주시에서도 2022년 경주화백컨벤션센터를 중심으로 보문관광단지 일원 178만㎡가 비즈니스 국제회의 복합지구로 지정됨에 따라 마이스산업을 중심으로 한 세계화 전략을 적극 펼치고 있다.
무엇보다 정상회의가 경주에서 열린다면 보문관광단지 전체를 APEC 정상회의를 위한 독립된 공간으로 세계무대에 선 보일 계획이다.
