브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= LG유플러스는 ‘블랑코코리아’와 손잡고 업계 최초로 중고폰에 저장된 데이터를 안전하고 완벽하게 삭제하는 ‘우리동네 중고폰 진단센터’를 운영한다고 13일 밝혔다.
블랑코코리아는 IT 기기 진단 및 데이터 완전삭제 전문 기업으로, 암호화된 데이터 위에 중복 방지를 위한 난수 데이터로 덮어쓰기 하는 방식으로 데이터를 완전히 삭제하는 솔루션을 제공한다. 영국, 독일, 미국 등에서 글로벌 삭제 인증 특허를 받은 바 있다.
LG유플러스는 올 2월부터 두 달간 연락처, 사진 등 중고폰에 저장된 개인정보를 완벽하게 제거해주는 U+진단센터를 시범적으로 운영했다. 이를 지난 10일부터 정식 서비스로 전환하고 수수료 없는 개인간 중고폰 거래를 활성화해 차별적 고객가치를 만들어 나갈 계획이다.
최근 경기 침체 등의 영향으로 중고폰 시장이 성장하는 가운데, C2C(개인간 거래) 플랫폼을 통해 중고폰을 거래하는 사람들은 개인정보 유출에 대한 우려가 컸다. 올 1월 ‘중고폰 사업자가 취급하는 휴대전화는 개인정보를 삭제하고, 포렌식으로도 복구가 불가능함을 인증해야 한다’는 법안이 본회의를 통과했지만, C2C 플랫폼에는 적용되지 않는다.
U+진단센터가 제공하는 블랑코 솔루션을 이용하면 전문 데이터 복구 소프트웨어를 사용해도 원본 자체를 찾을 수 없다. 데이터 삭제 후에는 블랑코 삭제 인증서도 제공해 개인간 거래에서 생기는 불안감을 크게 덜어줄 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 블랑코 인증서는 IT 업계에서 보안 감사 시 증빙으로 활용될 정도로 높은 공신력을 인정받고 있다.
