[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 의령군이 빛 연출을 통해 도시 전체를 색으로 환하게 밝히고 있다.
군은 의병탑·충익사 주변과 의병교~남천교 보행로와 수변 산책로 구름다리, 주민 편의 시설인 서동생활공원·공설운동장 등에 빛으로 피어나는 조명 연출을 통해 의령만의 특별한 색깔을 군민에게 선사하고 있다.
이번 'light up 프로젝트는 2022년 7월 오태완 군수의 제안에서 출발했다.
오 군수는 민선 8기 슬로건인 '변화의 시작'을 역설하며 의령 정체성과 의병 상징성을 부여할 수 있는 빛과 조명으로 의령군 전체를 환하게 밝히겠다는 구상을 밝혔다.
오 군수는 “의병탑과 충익사 일대가 야간에 너무 어두워 충의의 고장 의령의 진취성이 가려진다”며 “의병의 역사가 깃들어 있는 장소의 특성을 고려해 시설의 목적과 조화를 이루는 경관조명을 디자인할 것”을 지시했다.
의병탑은 빛의 횃불 연출로 '영웅의 흔적'이라는 주제로 구현됐다.
의령의 상징적인 조형물이지만 '창백하다'라는 의견을 반영해 의병탑의 형태감이 돋보이도록 '홍색'의 조명등이 설치됐다.
빛의 서치라이트 효과로 의병탑 꼭대기에서는 일몰 후 곽재우 장군과 휘하 17장령 총 18장군을 기리는 18분간의 빛이 하늘로 비치는 진귀한 장면도 시범 운영을 앞두고 있다.
의병박물관 가로등은 의령지역의 의병들이 들었던 횃불인 '오지거'를 모티브로 경관조명을 디자인해 의미와 모양새를 모두 살렸다.
