브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 에브라힘 라이시 이란 대통령이 탑승한 헬기가 추락해 탑승자 전원이 사망했다는 이란 현지매체들의 보도가 나왔다.
20일(현지시각) 메흐르통신은 "이란 대통령과 외무장관 등 헬기 탑승자 모두가 순교했다"고 보도했다.
IRINN뉴스도 라이시 대통령이 헬기 추락 사고로 순교했다고 전했다.
라이시 대통령과 호세인 아미르 압돌라히안 외무장관 등은 전날 국경 인근 댐 준공식에 참석 후 헬기를 타고 복귀하는 도중 추락사고가 발생했다. 탑승자는 총 9명으로 알려졌다.
이에 이란 정부는 구조대를 구성, 추락 추정 지점인 동아제르바이잔주 타빌 마을 인근에서부터 수색을 진행했다. 수색 작업 돌입 후 약 15시간 뒤 헬기 잔해를 발견됐는데, 발견 당시 헬기는 심각하게 파손된 채 전소된 상태였다.
