[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 거창군이 ‘우리동네 안심순찰대 사업’을 본격 추진한다고 밝혔다.
이에 20일 군청 상황실에서 거창군과 거창경찰서의 담당자, 안심순찰대원이 참석한 가운데 근무자 사전교육과 간담회를 가졌다.
이날 간담회는 사업설명, 근무요령, 안전교육 및 질의응답 순으로 진행됐으며 담당공무원과 순찰대원이 함께 사업의 효과와 군민 체감도를 높이기 위해 다양한 의견을 공유했다.
우리동네 안심순찰대 사업은 지역 특성을 반영해 치안 서비스의 다양성과 현장성을 높이고 주민과 밀접한 거리에서 치안활동을 수행하기 위한 경상남도 자치경찰위원회 주관사업이다.
거창군에서는 4명으로 구성된 안심순찰대가 경찰관과 함께 학교밀집구역, 산책로 공원, 주거·유흥지역 등을 주기적으로 순찰하며 여름철 수승대관광지 안전확보 및 한마당대축제기간 치안위해요소 점검 활동을 수행하게 된다.
윤광식 행정과장은 “지역별 특색에 맞는 맞춤형 치안서비스 제공이 바로 2021년부터 전국적으로 시행된 자치경찰제도의 핵심이다”며 “우리동네 안심순찰대가 ‘범죄없는 안전한 거창’ 실현에 보탬이 되도록 대원들이 적극적으로 활동해 주시기를 바란다”고 말했다.
한편 거창군은 도내 최초로 자치경찰사무지원 조례를 제정해 2024년에는 1억 4,000만원 군비확보로 5개 분야에서 10개의 자치경찰사무를 지원하고 있으며 연초 행정안전부가 공표한 2023년 ‘지역안전지수 중 생활안전 분야’에서 도내 유일 1등급을 달성한 바 있다.
