충남 태안군이 지역 경제 활성화를 위한 6월8일을 시작으로 5일장을 개장한다고 밝혔다.
태안군청 브리핑실에서 기자회견을 갖은 가세로 태안군수는 태안군 “걷고 싶은 거리”일원에서 5일장을 개장 한다고 4일 밝혔다.
5일장 추진위원회가 주관하며, 6월8일 첫 개장을 시작으로 매달 3일,8일 “걷고 싶은 거리” 약 200M 구간에서 운영된다.
가세로 군수는 부스 설치·철거와 공공근로 및 시장매니저 지원,방문객 볼거리 제공을 위한 문화예술 공연 등5일장 운영을 위한 행정적 지원에 최선을 다할 것이라고 말했다.
태안 전통시장은 1918년 공설시장으로 허가를 받은 이래1970년대 전까지 태안읍사무소 부근 골목에 자리 잡았던‘구시장’, 1970년대 이후 시외버스터미널 인근에 상가 건물을 개축하고 들어선‘신시장’,터미널 하차장에 열린 노점상인‘도깨비시장’등 많은 변화를 거쳐왔다.
이후 신시장은 동부시장으로,도깨비시장은 서부시장으로 각각 자리잡아 지금에 이르고 있다.
