브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= KT는 지니 TV 키즈랜드의 ‘스콜라스틱 시즌3’를 연계한 ‘원어민과 스콜라스틱 스토리북&플레이’ 강좌를 더현대 서울 CH1985(문화센터)에서 연다고 11일 밝혔다.
KT는 美국공립학교에서 가장 많이 활용되는 스콜라스틱 교재를 세계 최초 오리지널 영상으로 제작해 지니 TV 키즈랜드에서 유아 기초 시리즈를 무료로 제공중이다.
원어민과 스콜라스틱 스토리북&플레이 강좌는 키즈랜드 오리지널 콘텐츠 ‘스콜라스틱 시즌3 버디 리더스(Buddy Readers)’를 연계한 수업이다. 수업에 참여한 아이는 버디 리더스 주인공 캐릭터인 ‘수퍼치크’와 영어 기초 문장을 우선 배운 후 원어민 선생님과 재미있는 미션을 통해 자연스럽게 표현을 익혀갈 수 있다.
아울러 KT는 수업에 참여한 모든 아이에게 버디 리더스 도서 1권과 슈퍼치크 가면 만들기 세트, 스콜라스틱 에코백 등 특별한 혜택도 제공한다.
이 강좌는 부모와 떨어져 수업할 수 있는 생후 40개월 이상 아이라면 누구나 참여할 수 있다. 특히, 영어에 관심이 많거나 영어 학습을 시작하는 7세 이하 아동에게 유익한 수업이다.
KT는 6월, 7월 격주 토요일(6월 15일, 29일/ 7월 13일, 27일)마다 하루 3회씩 총 12회 강좌를 열 계획이다. 장소는 더현대 서울 6층 CH1985 스튜디오M이다. 수강신청은 현대백화점 문화센터 홈페이지에서 할 수 있으며 1회 수강료는 4만원이다.
한편, KT는 스콜라스틱 시즌1의 퍼스트 리틀 리더스(First Little Readers), 파닉스 리더스(Phonics Readers), 퍼스트 리틀 코믹스(First Little Comics)를 시작으로, 시즌2 ‘사이트 워드 스토리(Sight Word Stories)’, 시즌3 ‘버디 리더스(Buddy Readers)’까지 총 440편의 콘텐츠를 확보해, 영어를 시작하는 유아기 아이들을 위한 영어 기초 시리즈를 완성했다.
KT 김훈배 미디어플랫폼사업본부장은 “아이들에게 유익한 콘텐츠를 TV 밖에서 원어민 선생님과 직접 체험할 수 있도록 이번 행사를 준비했다”며 “앞으로도 키즈랜드의 차별화된 고객 경험을 확대해 나갈 것이다”고 말했다.

The native speaker and Scholastic Storybook & Play course is a class linked to Kids Land’s original content ‘Scholastic Season 3 Buddy Readers’. Children who participate in the class can first learn basic English sentences with the main character of Buddy Leaders, ‘Super Cheek’, and then naturally learn expressions through fun missions with a native English teacher.
In addition, KT provides special benefits such as one Buddy Readers book, a Super Cheek mask making set, and a Scholastic eco bag to all children who participate in the class.
