[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] “다음 2년은 ‘철학이 있는 속도’가 거둬들이는 결실들을 하나하나씩 증명하는 시간들로 채워질 것입니다.”
홍태용 김해시장은 1일 김해시청 브리핑룸에서 민선8기 출범 2주년 기자회견을 열고 “2년 전 시정연설에서 ‘방향이 곧 속도’라는 철학을 말씀드렸고 이제 이 방향의 축 위에서 더 넓고 높은 곳을 향해 속도를 내겠다”며 이같이 강조했다.
그러면서 “하반기 시정은 공약 이행률을 지속적으로 높이는 데 주력하는 동시에 하반기 시정을 견인하는 10대 현안들을 반드시 해결해 보이겠다”고 밝혔다.
올 1분기 현재 공약 이행률은 29.87%로 6대 분야 144개 공약 중 43건을 완료했으며 작년과 올해 부산·경남 기초지자체 유일 2년 연속 매니페스토 최우수 등급 획득으로 시정 생산성을 입증했다.
나머지 공약들은 임기 내 84% 달성을 목표로 하고 임기 내 달성하지 못한 공약들은 추진동력을 잃지 않도록 이행기반을 탄탄히 한다.

홍 시장은 “국가 스마트 물류 플랫폼 구축 시범사업 대상지 선정에 총력을 기울이면서 지난 5월 발의된 ‘부산 글로벌 허브도시 특별법’과 연계해 부산시, 경남도와 함께 국제물류특구 지정을 이끌어 내겠다”며 “동북아 물류 플랫폼 내 도심항공모빌리티(UAM) 운영 실증 인프라를 구축해 김해발 항공택배 물류 시스템을 갖추겠다”고 밝혔다.
이어 “5대 전략산업 중 의생명산업은 내년부터 2029년까지 디지털 헬스케어 중심의 강소연구개발특구 2단계 사업으로 새 장을 열고 미래자동차산업은 2028년까지 단계별 기반 구축으로 클러스터를 완성하겠다”며 “로봇·물류산업 역시 2027년까지 로봇·반도체 클러스터를 조성하고 스마트센서산업은 스마트센싱유닛실증센터를 본격적으로 운영하면서 후속사업들을 발굴한다”고 말했다.
또 “지난해 야심차게 뛰어든 액화수소산업은 2027년까지 실증센터 건립, 기술개발 등을 거쳐 부울경 수소경제를 선점하는 액화수소 클러스터를 완성하는 데 초점을 맞추겠다”고 덧붙였다.
세 번째 현안인 글로컬대학30 유치는 오는 8월 최종 지정을 앞두고 김해시는 ‘대학을 책임지는 도시, 도시를 책임지는 대학’ 비전 현실화를 위해 최선을 다하고 있다.
글로벌 역사문화관광도시 도약을 위해서는 가야고분군 세계유산 통합관리기구 유치와 함께 유네스코 세계유산도시 협의체인 세계역사도시연맹과 세계유산도시기구에 2025년까지 차례로 가입 후 2030 유네스코 세계유산위원회 총회 유치를 추진한다.
