김태 화가의 미완성 작품 18점을 모두 공개키로 마음먹은 이유
필자는 미술품 소장가(所藏家)로서 지난 2006년부터 18년간에 걸쳐 누드화를 소장해왔다. 그러던 중 최근에 전 서울대 서양학과 교수였던 김태 화가(1931-2021)의 미완성 작품 18점(누드화 3점 포함. 김태 화가 추정작품)을 소장하게 됐다. 여기에서 '미완성 작품'이라 함은 작가 자신이 자신의 그린 그림이 흡족(洽足)하지 않아 그림에서 서명을 삭제, 서명(署名)이 없는 그림(예리한 칼로 그림 바깥쪽이 잘려진 흔적이 또렷함)을 뜻한다. 필자가 소장한 김태 화가의 그림은 완성 상태에서 서명 부분이 칼로 잘려져 미완성(김태 화가 추정작품)으로 바뀐 그림들이다.
