삼성전자가 우크라이나에서 판매되는 폴더블 스마트폰 갤럭시Z 제품명에서 'Z'를 삭제했다 한다. 앞서 반(反) 러시아 성향이 강한 발트3국에 이어 우크라이나까지 해당 조치를 확대했다. 삼성전자는 이날 우크라이나 홈페이지에서 판매되는 '갤럭시Z' 시리즈 제품명을 수정했다. '갤럭시Z폴드3'는 '갤럭시폴드3'로, '갤럭시Z플립3'는 '갤럭시플립3'로 변경됐다. 러시아 국방부는 일일 브리핑과 더불어 Z를 매개로 한 사진과 영상을 몇 개씩 선보이고 있다. 진격 명령을 내린 푸틴 대통령에 대한 전폭적인 지지를 상징하기도 한다. 반대로 우크라이나를 비롯한 발트해 연안, 동유럽 일대에서는 제2차 세계대전 히틀러 시대의 나치 문양인 '하켄크로이츠'와 유사하게 '공포'로 받아들여지고 있다.

그런데 우크라이나에서는 프라비섹토르나 아조프 대대가 나치 문양을 하고 다니는 사진들이나 영상에는 조용히 있으면서 Z문양에만 유독 나치와 똑같이 반응한다는 것이다. 그리고 일본의 욱일기도 올림픽이나 월드컵에 들고 나왔어도 비판 한 마디도 못하는 자들이 Z표시를 가지고 PTSD 발작을 하고 있다. 그럴꺼면 영어 알파벳에서 Z를 아예 빼버리던가. Z가 전범의 상징이고 러시아 군사작전의 상징이니 영미권 국가들도 Z들어가는 용어를 쓰지 않으면 된다. 라틴 문자에서 Z가 들어가는 단어가 적어도 수천만개? 수억개? 정도 될텐데 그게 트리거가 될 정도면 Z들어가는 문구 모두 바꾸는 글자혁명을 해야 할 판이다.
그리고 Z 문자가 들어가는 나라 또한 14개가 있는데 이들도 나라 이름 바꿔야 할 판이다. 특히 체코는 Z를 공개적인 장소에서 사용할 때 법적 처벌 방안을 검토한다 했으니 그럼 체코 공화국 영문 이름인 Czechia 이거의 Z를 없애던지 영문을 바꾸고 그런 검토를 해야 이치에 맞지 않을까? Z 표시가 들어가 있는 모든 브랜드와 옷도 바꾸고 도시 이름도 Z가 들어가 있으면 바꿔야할듯 하다. 나치만큼 제2차 세계대전의 대학살을 저지른 것도 아니고 현재도 진행 중인 전쟁을 두고 아주 별의 별 짓을 다하고 있다. 그럼 이라크와 아프가니스탄을 파괴한 전범국 미국 USA의 U도 못 쓰도록 바꿔버리자고 하면 거기에는 침묵하는 자들이다. 이제는 어이 없는 것도 모자라 유치하기까지 한다.
