브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 한국마사회가 지난 5일 서울대학교 어린이병원에서 임직원들의 헌혈증서와 기부금을 전달했다.
지난 20년간 단체 헌혈을 꾸준히 이어온 한국마사회 임직원들은 이번 전달식을 위해 그간 모아둔 헌혈증서 546매를 꺼내놓았다. 또한, 임직원들은 급여 일부를 공제해 총 1000만원의 기부금을 조성해 헌혈증서와 함께 서울대학교 어린이병원에 전달했다.
한국마사회 임직원들이 모은 헌혈증서와 기부금은 중증 희귀 난치질환을 앓고 있는 아이들을 위한 소아 완화의료사업과 경제적인 어려움을 겪고있는 환아들을 위해 쓰일 예정이다.
이날 전달식에는 지난 31년간 229회 헌혈로 무려 103L의 혈액을 꾸준히 나눠온 한국마사회 류원상 경영기획실장이 직접 참석했다. 대한적십자사 명예의전당에도 올라있는 ‘마사회 헌혈왕’ 류원상 실장은 이번 전달식을 위해 그간 모아온 헌혈증서 100장을 쾌척하며 생명 나눔을 실천했다.
전달식에 참석한 한국마사회 정기환 회장은 “이번 기부는 우리 사회의 미래인 아이들의 건강과 행복을 위해 작은 보탬이 되고자 시작했다”며 “임직원들이 어린이 건강을 염원하며 손수 모은 만큼, 어린이병원에 희망의 씨앗을 뿌려주기를 부탁드린다”고 전했다.
한편, 한국마사회는 이번 기부 외에도, 어린이를 위한 다양한 사회공헌 활동을 펼치고 있다. 지난 6월 10일부터는 전국 17개 지역아동센터를 이용하는 초등학생 239명을 위하여 ‘찾아가는 문화센터’ 프로그램을 운영하며, 아동복지 증진과 교육격차 완화를 위해 힘쓰고 있다.
