브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 넥슨은 자사의 게임 데이터 활용 플랫폼 ‘넥슨 오픈 API(NEXON Open API)’에 신작 게임 ‘퍼스트 디센던트’ 데이터를 업데이트했다고 9일 밝혔다.
지난해 12월 리뉴얼 오픈한 넥슨 오픈 API는 유저 정보, 랭크, 아이템 등 게임 내 데이터를 통해 누구나 다양한 유저 창작 서비스 개발에 활용할 수 있도록 한 공개 플랫폼이다.
넥슨은 지난 2일 신작 ‘퍼스트 디센던트’의 정식 출시 이후 유저들의 의견에 따라 △장착 계승자(캐릭터) △무기 △반응로(스킬 위력) △외장 부품(액세서리) △난이도 보상 △기본 스탯 △보이드 요격전 △타이틀 △모듈 정보 등 총 9종의 인게임 메타데이터를 넥슨 오픈 API에 신규 업데이트했다.
넥슨은 이번 퍼스트 디센던트 데이터 업데이트를 통해 메타데이터와 다양한 이미지 데이터도 함께 제공한다. 게임 속 계승자나 무기 등의 콘텐츠 이미지를 손쉽게 조회하고 창작 서비스에 이미지를 포함시켜 시각적으로도 더욱 풍부하게 구현할 수 있도록 지원한다.
또한, ‘퍼스트 디센던트’가 글로벌 시장에 출시된 만큼, 넥슨 오픈 API 홈페이지 영문 번역과 해외 로그인 서비스를 통해 해외 유저들도 활발하게 데이터를 활용할 수 있도록 할 예정이다. 해외 로그인은 우선 북미 지역부터 서비스되며, 향후 대상 지역을 확대할 계획이다.
넥슨 오픈 API 개발 및 운영을 총괄하는 배준영 넥슨 인텔리전스랩스 본부장은 “퍼스트 디센던트를 즐기는 유저들께서 루트슈터라는 장르적 특성을 살린 데이터와 이미지를 통해 어떤 서비스를 개발할 지 기대된다”며 “앞으로도 유저들의 의견을 바탕으로 데이터를 제공하는 게임 종류를 확대하고, 개발한 서비스를 널리 알릴 수 있도록 넥슨 오픈 API 내 홍보 페이지와 오픈마켓 등을 구축할 예정이다”고 말했다.
한편, 넥슨 오픈 API는 출시 이후 6개월 동안 약 10만 건 이상의 API 키가 발급됐으며, 하루 평균 데이터 조회량이 5000만 건에 이르는 등 활발히 이용되고 있다. 넥슨 오픈 API를 통해 지금까지 개발된 웹·앱 서비스는 100여 가지 이상인 것으로 알려졌다.
