대통령실이 21일 윤석열 대통령 부인 김건희 여사 검찰 조사에 대해 "검찰이 수사 중인 사안에 대통령실이 직접 언급하는 게 부적절하단 판단에서 법률대리인이 입장을 밝히는 것으로 정리됐다"고 밝혔다.
대통령실 관계자는 이날 오후 용산 대통령실에서 취재진과 만나 "필요할 경우 김 여사 법률대리인이 입장을 밝히지 않겠나 생각한다"고 밝혔다.
그러면서 '김 여사 대면 조사에 대한 대통령실 입장·명품 가방의 대통령기록물 지정 판단이 늦어지는지'에 대한 질의엔 "김건희 여사님 법률대리인이 입장을 낼 것"이라며 명품 가방을 제출했는지 여부 관련해선 "필요하다면 법률대리인 측에서 확인이 필요하지 않을까 싶다"고 말했다.
김 여사 변호인 최지우 변호사는 이날 "김 여사는 성실히 조사에 임해 사실 그대로 진술했다"는 입장을 냈다.
또 김 여사가 오는 26일 국회 법제사법위 청문회에 참석할지 여부 관련해선 "위헌·위법적 사안에 대해 대통령실은 타협할 생각이 없다는 게 기본 원칙"이라며 "기존 입장에 변함 없고, 이에 입각해 참석 여부에 대한 답변을 갈음한다"며 불출석 입장을 거듭 밝혔다.
