윤석열 대통령이 26일 이상인 방송통신위원장 직무대행 겸 부위원장에 대한 면직안을 재가했다.
대통령실 대변인실은 이날 오전 언론 공지에서 "윤 대통령은 오늘 이상인 방송통신위원회 상임위원(부위원장) 사임을 재가했다"며 "방통위 부위원장 사임은 적법성 논란 있는 야당의 탄핵안 발의에 따른 것으로 방통위가 불능상태에 빠지는 것을 막기 위한 불가피한 조치"라고 밝혔다.
그러면서 "대통령실은 방송뿐만 아닌 IT·통신 정책을 총괄하는 방통위를 무력화시키려는 야당 행태에 심각한 유감을 표한다"며 "국회가 시급한 민생 현안 해결을 위한 입법은 외면한 채 특검·탄핵안 남발 등 정쟁에만 몰두한다면 그 피해는 고스란히 국민에 돌아갈 수밖에 없다"고 밝혔다.
더불어 "국회가 더 이상 미래로 가는 대한민국 발목을 잡아선 안 된다"고 덧붙였다.
이 부위원장은 전날 더불어민주당이 자신에 대한 탄핵소추안을 발의해 국회 본회의에 보고 후 탄핵안을 표결에 부치려 하자 이날 오전 사의를 표한 것으로 알려졌다.
