세종시교육청이 세종시와 공동으로 신청한 교육부 주관 ‘교육발전특구 2차 시범지역’에 선정됐다고 30일 밝혔다.
이번 ‘교육발전특구 2차 시범지역’ 선정으로 교육청은 생애 단계별 포용적 안전망을 구축하고, 모두가 특별해지는 학교 교육 혁신을 이끌어 글로컬 경쟁력을 갖춘 자족 경제 도시 실현에 탄력을 받을 수 있게 됐다.
그동안 양 기관은 세종형 교육발전특구 기본구상 정책연구를 공동으로 발주하고 매주 실무협의회를 개최하는 등 견고한 협력체계를 구축해왔으며, 학생, 학부모, 시민, 산업체 등의 다양한 여론을 수렴하여 중점 과제를 발굴했다.
세종형 교육발전특구는 ‘세계로 나아가는 미래 교육 도시, 세종’이라는 비전 아래, ‘생애 주기 교육 민관 협력(거버넌스)과 지역 맞춤형 동반 혁신으로 신(新) 지방시대 선도 모델 구축’을 목표로 3대 분야 추진전략*을 수립했다.
먼저, 교육청과 시청이 모두를 위한 교육과 돌봄 연계형 늘봄 체제 구축을 위해 함께하는 지역협력체제를 마련한다.
온마을이 함께하는 늘봄 체제를 구축하고 유보통합 추진체계를 확립하여, 출발선의 평등을 보장하는 온(on-溫)세종 유보통합을 추진한다.
미래 교육을 선도하는 공교육 체제 혁신을 위해서 모든 학교에 디지털 기반의 교육혁신을 도입하고 미래 교육을 선제적으로 대비하는 모델학교를 운영하며, 학생과 시민을 위한 온라인 학습 기반(플랫폼)을 구축할 계획이다.
협약형 특성화고를 지정·운영해 지역산업 맞춤형 인재를 양성하고 지역인재 채용을 확대하여 추진한다.
아울러, 지·산·학·연 정주형 지역혁신 인재를 양성하고자, 올해부터 입주하는 공동캠퍼스 학생들의 지역 정착을 돕기 위한 정책지원을 확대하고, 입주 대학 간의 융합형 교육 기반(플랫폼)을 구축할 예정이다.
또한, 국제(글로벌) 도시-학교-대학-기업과의 협약을 기반으로 미래전략산업 분야에서 국제(글로벌) 경쟁력을 갖춘 세종시 인재를 양성한다는 계획이다.
