한·미·일 정상이 18일 "우리 공동 이익·안보에 영향을 미치는 지역적 도전·도발·위협에 있어 우리 협의에 대한 공약을 지켜나간다"고 밝혔다.

바이든 대통령·기시다 총리가 재선 도전을 포기하면서 미·일 정상 교체가 예정된 가운데 이날 공동성명은 이와 무관하게 3국 협력은 지속적으로 공고하다는 의지를 나타낸 것으로 보인다.
한·미·일 정상은 이번 공동성명에 대북 안보 공조 성과·협력 강화 의지를 담았으나 윤 대통령이 지난 15일 발표한 '8·15 통일독트린' 관련 직접 언급은 포함되지 않았다.
