여주시, 단아 박광천 도예명장 선정

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=여주 이현준기자] 여주시는 제3호 도예 명장인 박광천 명장(전원도예연구소)이 2024년 대한민국 명장(도자공예부문)에 선정됐다.

지난달 29일 고용노동부와 한국산업인력공단은 박광천 명장 외 12명을 대한민국 명장으로 선정해 발표했다.

대한민국 명장은 1986년부터 지금까지 총 708명의 명장이 배출되었으며, 산업현장에서 최고 수준의 숙련 기술을 보유하고 고용노동부 장관이 고시한 직종에서 공고일 현재 15년 이상 종사하고 있는 기술자로서 숙련의 보유 정도가 높은 자, 신청 직종에서 최고의 숙련 기술을 보유하였다고 인정되는 자, 숙련 기술의 발전이나 숙련 기술자의 지위 향상에 크게 기여하였다고 인정되는 자 중에서 선정되게 된다.

박광천 명장은 여주시 출생으로 1975년부터 지난 50년의 도예 외길만을 걸어오며, 2008년 여주시 도예명장 3호에 선정, 고려대학교 교육대학원 서예 문화 최고위 과정 수료, 2010년 인도네시아 문화부 장관 표창, 2012년 자랑스런 국민대상 도예명장대상 수상, 2013년 여주시 문화상 수상, 2021년 우수숙련기술인(도자공예)선정되는 등의 이력과 함께 천년 역사의 전통을 지닌 도자의 고장 여주에서 투철한 장인정신으로 우리 조상들의 숨결이 살아 숨 쉬는 한국 전통 도자기 명맥을 이어왔다.
