충남 서산시가 성공적으로 안착시킨 '충청권 최초 모항 국제 크루즈선 유치 및 성공적 운항' 사례가 충청남도에서 주관한 ‘2024년 적극행정 우수사례 경진대회’에서 대상을 받는 쾌거를 이뤘다고 4일 밝혔다.
충남도는 15개 시군, 지방공기업, 공공기관, 도 소속기관 등을 대상으로 적극행정 문화를 확산하기 위해 매년 적극행정 우수사례 경진대회를 추진하고 있다.
총 51개의 과제가 도에 접수됐으며, 이중 예선 심사를 통과한 21건을 대상으로 온라인 도민 투표, 현장 투표, 전문가 발표심사 등을 거쳐 대상·최우수상·우수상·장려상이 선정됐다.
서산시는 충청권 최초 국제 크루즈선을 유치하고 올해 5월 8일 성공적으로 출항했으며, 충남 최초로 해외 입출국하는 새 역사를 창조했다.
이완섭 서산시장은 대상 수상을 기념하며 “사통팔달 교통인프라를 구축하기 위한 적극행정의 결과”라며 “충청권 최초 서해를 깨운 국제 크루즈선 취항이 충남도에서 빛나는 우수사례로서 남길 바란다”라고 말했다.
한편, 서산시는 8월 9일 베니키아 호텔에서 롯데관광개발㈜과 ‘2024년 서산 모항 국제 크루즈선 운항 협약’을 체결했으며, 지속적인 국제 크루즈선 유치에 행정력을 집중할 방침이다.
