대통령실이 5일 윤석열 대통령 부인 김건희 여사의 지난 '4·10 총선 국민의 힘 공천 관여 의혹' 관련 보도에 "결과적으로 공천 안됐는데 무슨 공천개입이란 말?"이라며 즉각 반박했다.
이날 앞서 모 매체는 '김 여사가 지난 제22대 4·10 총선에 앞서 당시 5선 중진 김영선 국민의 힘 의원에게 지역구를 옮겨 출마할 것을 요청했다'는 의혹을 보도했다.
대통령실 관계자는 이와 관련해 "김 의원은 당초 컷 오프 됐었고, 공천은 당 공천관리위원회에서 결정하는 것"이라고 설명했다.
이날 더불어민주당(박찬대)은 국회정책조정회의에서 해당 보도를 인용해 "김 여사 당무·선거개입·국정농단·윤 대통령 공직선거법 위반 의혹에 대해 도저히 묵과할 수 없다"며 "김건희 특검법에 해당 의혹도 수사 대상에 포함하겠다"고 공세를 펼쳤다.
