[브레이크뉴스경기남부=성남 이현준기자] 성남시가 ‘2024. 콤팩트시티 대상’ 미래도시 부문 우수상을 수상했다.
5일 서울 중구 한국프레스센터에서 열린 콤팩트시티 대상은 기존 택지개발의 한계를 극복하고, 지속 가능한 도시 공간 개발 모델을 제시해 다양한 사회 문제를 해결하고자 올해 처음 제정되었다. 조선일보가 주최하고 행정안전부·국토교통부·한국도시설계학회가 후원한다.
이 평가는 전국 지방자치단체, 건설사, 건축사사무소 등을 대상으로 콤팩트시티 정책 및 기획, 추진 성과 및 사례 등에 대해 인공지능(AI)융합대학, 도시설계학, 건축학과 등 관련 심사위원으로 구성된 심사위원회를 통해 이뤄졌다.
성남시는 분당구 정자동 1번지에 조성되는 백현마이스(MICE) 사업으로 이번 상을 받았다.
백현마이스는 전시컨벤션시설, 호텔, 업무시설, 쇼핑몰 공동주택 등 주요 기능들이 한 곳에 밀집돼 도시 내 이동 시간을 줄이고 자원 효율성을 극대화했다.
인공지능(AI), 사물인터넷(IoT), 자율주행, 바이오헬스 등 첨단기술이 집적된 판교테크노밸리와 연계해 창업 및 기업 이전을 촉진하고 새로운 일자리를 창출하는 등 다양한 생활 인프라를 고밀도로 집약하여 효율적으로 배치한 콤팩트시티라는 평가를 받는다.
시 관계자는 “백현마이스 등 도심 속에서도 문화, 휴식, 혁신을 동시에 누릴 수 있는 밀도 있고 생동감 넘치는 공간을 창출하는 데 지속적으로 노력할 것”이라고 말했다.

It is evaluated as a compact city that efficiently places various living infrastructures by integrating them in a high density and promoting startups and corporate relocations and creating new jobs in connection with Pangyo Techno Valley, which is home to cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), autonomous driving, and bio-health.
A city official said, “We will continue to work to create dense and vibrant spaces where you can enjoy culture, relaxation, and innovation in the city center, such as Baekhyun MICE.”
