[브레이크뉴스경기남부=광명 이현준기자] 광명시가 자원순환 교육 프로그램 시범 교육을 실시했다.
시는 6일 자원순환의 날을 맞아 소하초와 충현초 5학년 전체 260여 명을 대상으로 학교-사회 연계형 환경학습공동체가 직접 개발한 교육과정이다.
시, 환경교육센터, 학교 관계자가 중심이 돼 실생활에서 자원순환 인식 확산과 올바른 분리배출 실천, 환경교육 학습 기반 조성을 목적으로 개발됐다.
환경교육 관련 자격증을 소지하거나 환경교육 분야 경력 2년 이상인 11명의 선발된 자원순환 강사들이 교육을 진행했다.
이들은 이번 교육에 앞서 지난 6월부터 광명시 쓰레기 처리 과정 현장 견학을 비롯해 시의 자원순환 정책과 환경교육 방향을 익히고 5학년 교과과정에 알맞은 교육 프로그램을 4주간 개발했다.
학생들은 쓰레기의 올바른 분리배출 방법에 대해 알아보고 직접 개발한 교구인 ‘비헹분섞 접어접어’ 게임을 통해 재활용을 위해 비우고, 헹구고, 분리하고, 섞지 않는 것이 중요하다는 것을 몸소 경험하면서 재사용, 재활용, 자원순환의 필요성을 알아 보는 시간을 가졌다.
또 주변에서 사용하는 제품 중에서 소비자 요구로 포장재를 줄이는 사례를 찾아보고, 교실 안에 있는 플라스틱을 찾는 ‘일자빙고’ 게임을 통해 얼마나 많은 플라스틱이 다양한 형태로 존재하는지 알아보는 시간도 나눴다.
쓰레기를 줄이는 방법에 대한 4R(Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) 영상 시청, ‘손가락 접어접어’ 활동을 통해 물티슈 덜 쓰기, 빨대 안 쓰기, 텀블러 사용 등 쓰레기 문제 해결을 위한 실천을 다짐했다.
박승원 광명시장은 “앞으로 더 많은 청소년이 자원순환 실천 교육에 참여해 미래에 자원순환 실천가로 성장할 수 있도록 교육을 확대하겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 광명시환경교육센터는 자원순환 실천 교육 외에도 학교 연계 광명형 융합환경교육(생명을 살리는 물), 안터 생태교육, 찾아가는 생활환경교육 등 다양한 방법으로 환경교육을 진행하고 있다.
