[브레이크뉴스경기남부=용인 이현준기자] 용인특례시가 반도체 최고위 제2기 과정을 시작한다.
국내 유일 반도체 소재·부품 특성화대학원 울산과학기술원(이하 UNIST)과 함께 한다고 6일 밝혔다.
시는 지난해 11월 반도체 전문인력 양성을 위해 UNIST와 ‘반도체 교육·산학 허브 구축을 위한 업무협약’을 맺고 ‘반도체 최고위과정’을 마련해 운영 중이다.
‘반도체 최고위 제2기 과정’에 참여한 수강생들은 5일 입학식을 갖고 12주 동안 매주 목요일 반도체 기술 동향과 리더십·경영 전략, 예술·교양 강의를 이수한다.
이날 열린 입학식에는 이상일 용인특례시장과 박종래 UNIST 총장, 최고위과정 1기 수료생과 2기 수강생 등 30여명이 참석했다.
이상일 시장은 “지방자치단체와 대학이 반도체산업의 발전을 위해 최고위 과정을 개설해 훌륭한 인재를 배출하는 것은 대한민국에서 최초의 모델일 것”이라며 “용인특례시와 UNIST가 함께 운영하는 최고위 과정은 반도체산업의 최신 흐름과 기술 동향, 기업 경영을 위한 방안 등을 배우고 함께 공유할 수 있는 기회가 될 것”이라고 했다.
이 시장은 “삼성전자가 360조원을 투자하는 ‘용인 첨단시스템반도체 국가산업단지’를 품은 용인특례시는 대한민국을 넘어 글로벌 반도체 중심도시로 성장할 수 있는 확고한 기틀을 마련했다”며 “정부와 기업 관계자 등 다양한 분야에서 한 자리에 모인 최고위 과정 수강생 여러분의 역량이 대한민국 미래 경쟁력 강화에 중요한 요소가 될 것으로 기대한다”고 말했다.
박종래 UNIST 총장은 “UNIST와 반도체산업 중심도시 용인특례시가 마련한 최고위 과정은 반도체 기술과 반도체산업 육성 전략을 공유하는 배움이 장이 될 것”이라며 “반도체 분야 최고의 전문가를 강사로 초빙해 진행하는 교육을 통해 수강생 여러분이 정보를 교류하고, 비즈니스 성장과 새로운 시장 창출을 할 수 있는 기회를 얻기 바란다”고 말했다.
‘반도체 최고위 제2기 과정’에는 반도체산업 관련 기업의 임원진과 연구기관, 정부 기관 관계자들이 수강을 신청했다. 시는 반도체산업 일선에서 다양한 활동을 하는 수강생들이 최고위 과정에서 인적 네트워크를 형성하고, 인재 육성과 산업 발전을 위한 역량을 강화할 수 있을 것으로 기대하고 있다.
특히 이번 최고위 과정에서는 ‘용인 반도체 특화단지 활용 전략’에 대한 발표과제가 마련돼 반도체산업 중심도시 용인특례시의 관련 정책에 대한 이해도를 높일 수 있는 것이 특징이다.
한편, 용인특례시는 UNIST 외에도 명지대의 반도체특성화대학 사업, 용인 반도체고등학교 설립 등을 지원하면서 반도체산업 관련 인재 양성에 집중하고 있다.
