경주시는 ‘2026 국가산업대상’에서 농업 선도도시 부문 대상을 수상했다고 밝혔다.
이번 수상은 경주시농업기술센터가 농촌진흥, 농촌 인력, 귀농·귀촌 등 농업정책 전반에서 고른 성과를 거둔 점이 높이 평가된 결과다.
특히 농촌진흥 분야에서는 전국 156개 시·군을 대상으로 한 평가에서 최우수 기관에 선정되며 5년 연속 수상의 성과를 이어갔다. 신농업혁신타운 조성, 농업기술박람회 개최, 기술 보급 확대 등 주요 사업도 현장 중심의 실질적 성과로 연결됐다.
농촌 인력정책 분야에서도 두드러진 성과를 냈다. 외국인 계절근로자 유치 규모를 2022년 60명에서 2024년 492명으로 대폭 확대했으며, 무단이탈률 0%, 농가 수요 충원율 100%를 기록했다.
귀농·귀촌 분야에서는 19년간 이어온 교육 프로그램과 1대1 멘토링, 정착 지원 정책을 바탕으로 안정적인 성과를 이어가고 있다.
경주시는 이 같은 성과가 인력 유치와 정착 지원, 기술 보급이 유기적으로 연계된 농업정책 추진체계에서 비롯된 것으로 분석하고 있다.
최혁준 경주시장 권한대행은 “이번 수상은 경주 농업의 경쟁력과 정책 성과를 대외적으로 인정받은 뜻깊은 결과”라며 “앞으로도 농업인의 요구를 반영한 다양한 지원사업을 추진해 농가 소득 증대와 농업 경쟁력 강화에 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.
