9일 오후 1시 판교역 광장에서 진행될 시연회에서는 신상진 성남시장이 참석해 로봇배달 서비스 운영 사항을 점검하고 배달 음식 주문과 수령까지 전체 과정을 직접 확인한다.
시는 국내기업 뉴빌리티와 함께 오는 12월까지 실외 자율주행 로봇 6대를 판교역 일대에서 운영한다. 오는 10월 말부터는 서현역 일원에 로봇 4대를 추가 투입해 중소상공인과 시민을 위한 로봇배송 서비스를 구현한다.
성남시는 산업통상자원부가 주최한 ‘2024년 규제혁신 로봇 실증사업(3단계)’ 공모에 최종 선정되어 국비 3억원 등 총 4억3000만원을 확보해 실외 자율주행 로봇배달 사업을 추진하고 있다.
이번 사업은 2023년 11월 실외 이동로봇에 관한 규제가 해소된 이후 지자체가 선도적으로 실외 자율주행 로봇 배달 서비스를 국내에 도입하는 첫 사례에 해당한다.
자율주행 로봇 배달 서비스는 중소상공인 일부 상점에서 주문이 들어오면 배달 로봇이 상품을 적재한 후 자율주행으로 목적지까지 이동해 주문 고객에게 전달하고 출발지까지 자동복귀 후 종료되는 시나리오로 구성된다.
