윤석열 대통령이 8일 '2024 파리 패럴림픽'에 출전한 대한민국 장애인 선수단에 "불굴의 투지를 보여준 83명 선수들이 정말 자랑스럽다"고 격려했다.
윤 대통령은 이날 오후 페이스북에 "파리 패럴림픽에 참가한 선수·지도자 여러분 모두 수고하셨다"며 "헌신적으로 선수들을 지원해주신 지도자·가족 여러분께도 감사드린다"며 이같이 적었다.
그러면서 "이번 대회 우리 선수단은 금메달 6개를 비롯 총 30개 메달로 목표를 초과 달성했다"며 "정호원 선수는 대한민국의 보치아 10회 연속 금메달이란 위업을 이뤄냈고, 탁구 김영건 선수는 생애 5번째 금메달을 목에 걸었다"고 했다.
이어 "사격 2관왕에 오른 박진호 선수·탁구 김기태 선수의 분전도 눈부셨다"며 "남자 트라이애슬론을 완주한 김황태 선수의 투지와 한국 장애인 육상 전설 전민재, 유병훈 선수 역주는 국민들에게 무엇과도 바꿀 수 없는 감동을 선물했다"라고 밝혔다.
또 "36년 만에 휠체어 펜싱 은메달을 따낸 권효경 선수, 대한민국 최초로 결선에 진출한 카누 최용범 선수, 28년 만에 8강에 오른 골볼을 비롯해 한 경기 한 경기가 모두 감동의 드라마였다"고 했다.
더불어 "다시 한번 우리 선수 모두에게 뜨거운 박수를 보내드린다"며 "여러분이 더 힘차게 도전할 수 있도록 열심히 지원하고 응원하겠다. 팀 코리아 꿈은 이뤄진다"고 덧붙였다.
