[브레이크뉴스경기남부=여주 이현준기자] 여주시가 지역 내 경유자동차 5,629대 운행자를 대상으로 2024년도 2기분 환경개선부담금을 부과·징수한다.
자동차 환경개선부담금은 환경오염의 직접적인 원인이 되는 노후 경유차를 대상으로 오염원인자 부담원칙에 따라 소유자에게 오염물질 처리비용을 부과하는 제도로써, 연 2회(3월, 9월) 후납제로 부과되고 있다.
환경개선부담금은 후납제로 이번 2기분 부과기간은 2024년 1월 1일부터 6월 30일이며, 부과액은 자동차 배기량 기준으로 차령 등을 감안해 산정했으며, 기간 내에 소유권 변경이나 폐차, 말소의 경우 소유기간에 따라 일할 계산해 부과된다.

또한 “환경개선부담금은 보다 쾌적한 환경의 조성을 위한 중요한 재원이므로 시민들께서 납기 내 납부해주실 것을 당부드린다”라고 말했다.
한편 저공해자동차, 유로5·6등급 경유자동차는 환경개선부담금이 면제되며, 배출가스저감장치를 부착한 경유자동차의 경우 저감장치 부착일로부터 3년간 면제된다.
