[브레이크뉴스경기남부=안산 이현준기자] 안산시의회가 추석 명절을 앞두고 복지시설 5곳을 방문했다.
지난 9일과 10일 이틀에 걸쳐 진행된 이번 방문에는 박태순 의장을 비롯해 최찬규, 이진분, 선현우, 이대구 의원이 참여했다.
의원들이 찾은 시설 5곳은 장애인복지시설 ‘반달말지원센터’, ‘꿈꾸는 느림보’, ‘둥근세상’과 아동복지시설‘요셉의 집’, 지역아동센터 ‘선부어울’등으로, 이들 시설은 지역에서 이용자 중심의 운영을 통해 복지의 사각지대를 해소하는 데에 기여하면서 사회적 약자층의 든든한 울타리 역할을 해왔다.
의원들은 각 시설을 방문한 자리에서 의회가 마련한 격려금을 전달한 뒤, 시설 운영 현황에 대해 청취하는 시간을 가졌다.
특히 의원들은 시설별 이용자 수와 복지 서비스 유형 등을 파악하고 시설의 애로사항 개선을 위한 실질적인 방안이 있는지 협의했다.
시설 관계자들도 의회의 관심과 격려에 감사의 뜻을 표하며 맡은 일에 최선을 다하겠다는 입장을 전했다.
박태순 의장은 “추석 명절을 맞아 이뤄진 이번 위문이 복지 현장의 최일선에서 일하고 있는 분들에게 조금이나마 힘이 됐기를 바란다”며 “앞으로도 이용자들에 대한 세심한 배려와 지원을 당부드리고 안산시의회도 지역 복지 정책의 개선을 위해 더욱 힘쓰겠다는 말씀을 드린다”고 전했다.
