[브레이크뉴스경기남부=광명 이현준기자] 광명시가 ‘모세로삼거리 광명시보훈회관(정류소번호 14095)’ 정류소에 추가 정차한다.
오는 19일부터 504번 버스가 ‘모세로삼거리 광명시보훈회관(정류소번호 14095)’ 정류소에 정차한다고 11일 밝혔다.
서울시내버스 504번은 하안동에서 광명시청을 거쳐 서울역까지 운행하는 노선으로 광명시민 이용객이 많은 노선이다.
이 버스는 그간 ‘모세로삼거리 광명시보훈회관’ 정류소에 정차하지 않아 인근 이용 시민들의 추가 정차 민원이 계속돼 왔다.
특히 철산2동 단독필지 주민과 보훈회관 이용객들은 가까운 정류소가 아닌 ‘모세로삼거리(38085)’ 또는 ‘광명시청(14088)’ 정류소에서 버스를 타야 해 200~250미터를 더 걸어야 했다.
이번 정류소 추가 정차로 도보거리를 단축해 정류소가 멀어 버스를 이용하기 어려웠던 주민들과 광명시보훈회관에 방문하는 국가유공자의 편의가 높아졌다.
시는 504번 버스가 정류소에 안전하게 정차할 수 있도록 버스 노면표지를 추가로 설치해 시민들이 보다 편리하게 정류소를 이용할 수 있도록 했다.
박승원 광명시장은 “오랜 협의 끝에 우리 시민들이 많이 이용하는 504번 버스를 더 편리하게 이용할 수 있게 됐다”며 “앞으로도 시민 목소리를 경청해 대중교통 서비스 질을 꾸준히 높이겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 광명시는 시민 교통 안전성 향상을 위해 국토부 ‘광역버스 준공영제’ 노선 선정에 참여해 지난 7월 8507번이 선정됐다. 이와 함께 관내 시내버스와 마을버스에 10억 원의 운영자금을 지원해 운수종사자 확보, 운행 횟수, 배차간격 준수 등 대중교통 서비스 개선을 도모하고 있다.
