[브레이크뉴스경기남부=시흥 이현준기자] 시흥시의회는 파주출판단지 내 민간이 운영하는 특화도서관을 벤치마킹했다.
지난 11일 벤치마킹에서는 김수연, 윤석경 의원을 비롯한 관계 공무원 등 10여 명이 참석해, 특화도서관과 북카페를 둘러보며 도서관 관계자로부터 장서 구성과 도서관 운영 현황에 대한 설명을 들었다.
특히, 열화당책박물관에서는 학예사로부터 책박물관의 전체적인 현황과 층별 전시 도서에 대한 설명을 듣고 전시된 도서를 살펴봤다. 이어 어린이도서 특화 북카페인 ‘밀크북카페’로 이동해 시설을 확인하고 우리 시에 적용 가능한 방안에 대해 모색하는 시간을 가졌다.
윤석경 의원은 “시민들이 독서와 여가를 동시에 온전히 누릴 수 있도록 우리 시 도서관에도 적용할 수 있는 방안을 연구해 나가겠다”라고 말했다.
김수연 대표 의원은 “우리나라 근대문화 역사와 출판의 역사에 대해 새로운 사실들을 알게 된 뜻 깊은 시간이었다”라며 “이번 벤치마킹을 계기로 우리 시 역사, 어린이, 영어, 미술 등 특화 분야 도서관 조성의 청사진을 그려보고 싶다”라고 전했다.
한편, ‘시흥시 공공도서관 활성화 연구회’는 지역사회의 요구와 지역 콘텐츠를 기반으로 지역 특성화 도서관 조성방안을 연구하기 위한 시흥시의회 의원 연구단체로 김수연, 윤석경 의원이 참여하고 있다.
