21일까지 진행되는 경기 광주시에서 열린 이번 체육대회에는 도내 31개 시·군에서 5000여명의 공직자들이 8개 종목(축구, 테니스, 탁구, 볼링, 족구, 야구, 배드민턴, 마라톤)의 선수로 참가했다.
용인특례시에선 187명의 공직자가 8개 종목 선수로 출전했다.
이상일 시장은 개막식이 열리기 전인 오전 8시 50분쯤 대회장에 도착해 개회식에 참가한 용인특례시 선수단을 격려했고 기념촬영을 했다.
이 시장은 개회식 인사말에서 "경기도와 각 시·군 발전을 위해 열심히 일하고 있는 공직자들에게 존경과 감사의 뜻을 전한다"며 "오늘과 내일 각자 좋아하는 운동을 하면서 스트레스도 풀고 친목도 많이 다지기 바란다"고 말했다.
