광주시, 개인형 이동장치 안전 사용 캠페인

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=광주 이현준기자] 광주시 주민자치협의회가 개인형 이동장치(PM, personality mobility) 안전 사용 캠페인을 열었다.

24일 실시한 캠페인은 최근 개인형 이동장치(킥보드, 전동 스쿠터 등) 운행이 증가하고 있는 가운데 이용자안전의식 부족으로 인한 다수의 사건·사고가 발생함에 따라 마련됐다.

캠페인은 쌍령동주민센터와 광주푸른초등학교 인근에서 ‘안전모 착용, 1인 탑승, 점자블록 위 주·정차 금지, 교통약자 보호’ 등 필수 안전 수칙을 준수하자는 내용으로 실시됐다.

이서용 주민자치협의회장은 “개인형 이동장치가 편리한 이동 수단으로 자리 잡고있지만 잦은 사고 소식을 접할 때마다 안타까운 심정”이라며 “이번 캠페인이 개인형이동장치의 안전한 사용 등 사회적으로 큰 변화를 일으켜 줄 것을 기대한다”고 소감을 전했다.

이날 캠페인에 참여한 방세환 시장은 “최근 사회적으로 이슈가 되는 개인형 이동장치에 대해 주민자치협의회에서 선도적으로 캠페인을 해 주셔서 감사드린다”며 “시에서도 시민이 안전한 거리 만들기, 교통안전 도시 조성을위해더욱노력하겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 주민자치협의회는 자치센터의 운영에 필요한 정보교환 및 협조를 위해 광주시 11개소 주민자치위원장(회장) 및 사무국장 22명으로구성된 주민 대표 조직이다.
