문화체육관광부 주관으로 열리며, 공모 주제는 ‘동아시아와 교류하고 성장하는 안성의 미래 표현’으로 동아시아문화도시 안성 개최 취지와 의미를 잘 담아내는데 초점을 두고 있다.
이번 공모전은 내년 안성시에서 개최되는 ‘2025 동아시아문화도시’ 사업의 시민이해도와 관심을 제고하기 위한 것으로 대한민국 국민이면 누구나 참여할 수 있으며 접수는 모바일(QR), 이메일, 방문, 우편으로 오는 30일부터 10월 24일까지 가능하다.
최우수상(1명) 100만원, 우수상(2명) 각 50만원, 장려상(2명) 각 25만원의상금이 수여되며 수상작은 향후 ‘2025 동아시아문화도시’ 사업 홍보에 활용될 예정이다.

한·중·일 3국은 지난 2012년 제4회 문화장관회의 합의에 따라 매년 각 나라의 대표도시를 각각 선정해 연중 문화예술 협력 및 교류행사를 개최하고 있다.
특히 2025년 동아시아문화도시로는 안성시를 비롯해 중국 마카오(澳門) 특별행정구와후저우시(湖州市), 일본 가마쿠라시(鎌倉市) 등 4개 도시가 선정되어 문화예술 교류행사를 준비하고 있다.
