[브레이크뉴스경기남부=용인 이현준기자] 용인특례시가 기흥구에 있는 마북천 일원에 설치된 소규모 개인하수처리시설 82개소에 대하여 10월부터 모두 조사 한다.
‘소규모 개인하수처리시설’은 하수처리구역 외 지역에서 개별 건물·시설 등에서 발생하는 오수를 침전·분해 등의 방법으로 일 50톤 미만을 처리하는 시설이다.
26일 시에 따르면 소규모 개인하수처리시설은 기술관리인의 선임 의무가 없기 때문에 관리주체(소유주, 관리자)의 관심과 전문성 결여 등으로 미처리 생활오수가 발생할 가능성이 있고, 오수가 하천으로 유입되면 악취 및 녹조 발생 등의 환경오염 원인으로 작용한다.
시는 조사 기간 소유주 입회하에 현장조사를 진행한다. 개인하수처리시설 전문관리용역업체가 운영·관리 기술 지도 및 교육을 진행한다.
또, 공공하수처리장 유입시설에 대해서는 개인하수처리시설 폐쇄처리를 당부하는 등의 후속 조치도 이뤄진다.
시 관계자는 “마북천 일원에 있는 개인하수처리시설의 현황조사를 통해 효율적인 오염원 관리가 가능할 것으로 기대한다”며 “원활한 조사를 위해 소유주(관리자)의 적극적인 관심과 협조를 부탁한다”고 당부했다.
시는 사업 종료 후 자체 평가를 실시해, 전수조사 사업의 확대를 검토할 계획이다.
