지역 내 인기 관광지와 시와 자매결연을 맺은 8개 자매도시의 관광지를 찾은 시민이 QR코드로 용인시민 인증을 하면 시는 행정안전부 시스템과 연계해 QR코드로 용인시민임을 인증하는 시스템을 운용하고 있다.

QR코드 시민 인증 이벤트는 9월 28일부터 12월 31일까지 진행된다.
용인시민이 용인자연휴양림, 농촌테마파크, 한택식물원, 한국민속촌, 대장금테마파크, 곤충테마파크 등 관내 관광지 6곳과 시와 자매결연을 맺은 속초시·진도군·영천시·완도군·사천시·고성군·광양시·단양군 등 8개 도시의 관광지나 시설 40여 곳에서 QR코드로 시민 인증을 하면 시티포인트 1000원을 받게 된다.
이벤트에 참여하려면 용인시티포인트 앱에 가입해 최초 1회 시민 인증을 받고 시민증을 발급받아야 한다. 청소년, 다자녀, 장애인, 병역명문가 등 본인이 표출하고 싶은 인증서를 선택할 수 있다.
