대통령실이 26일 김태효 국가안보실 제1차장에 대한 더불어민주당의 파면 요구에 "야당이 외교·안보 담당 공직자를 정쟁 중심으로 몰아가는 건 국익 측면에서 전혀 득 될 게 없다"고 밝혔다.
대통령 대변인실은 이날 오후 언론 공지에서 "김 차장이 체코 순방 공식 환영식에서 애국가 연주 시 가슴에 손얹지 못한 이유는 우측 전방 국기를 발견 못해 발생한 착오"라며 이같이 전했다.
그러면서 "대한민국국기법 시행령 제20조 제1호엔 '국기를 볼 수 있는 국민은 국기를 향하여 경례하며, 국기를 볼 수 없고 연주만을 들을 수 있는 국민은 그 방향을 향하여 선 채로 차렷 자세를 취한다'고 규정돼 있다"고 설명했다.
김민석·박선원 등 더불어민주당 일부 의원들은 '국기에 대한 결례'를 문제삼아 김 차장에 대한 파면 요구 및 결의안 등을 발의했다.
